Here comes the future (Let’s be honest)

Please excuse me when I can’t take your flattery

Please excuse me,  I’m working on it

I know it may seem hard to believe

But sometimes I don’t like being me

Sometimes, I’ve got eyes that can’t see

Oh oh, cause I’m not one ‘em pretty girls

I got lost in my own world, afraid of this one right here

I had to fight me way out

I had to sink my doubt

But please don’t tell me

That I’ve gone crazy!

Please let’s be honest

I’m not what he wanted

No, it’s never gonna work out

Cause I’m just as superficial

It’s just so prejudicial

For me thinking I have a chance

So tonight, I’m forgetting our dance

Forgetting that dance

I don’t know exactly what you want

But I know it’s not me

If it was me,

I wouldn’t be here crying, so lonely

Sometimes, I wonder if one day

You and me will be something beautiful

Find some way

But I can’t waste my life

Dreaming of a beautiful time,

Cause time ticks so fast

When we let it pass

So let’s be honest

I’m not what he wanted

No, it’s never gonna work out

Cause I’m just as superficial

It’s just so prejudicial

For me thinking I have a chance

So tonight, I’m forgetting our dance

Forgetting that dance

I wasted so much time

Dreaming up a new life

But I want my dreams to come to life

And for the last time

I don’t want to be you want

I want to be who I need to be

You’re just a figment of my imagination

A representation of something to come

If I could only have some way to run

I wanna be honest

I’m not what he wanted

No, it’s never gonna work out

Cause I’m just as superficial

It’s just so prejudicial

For me thinking I have a chance

So tonight, I’m forgetting our dance

Forgetting that dance

I’m forgetting who you want

Forgetting what I’m not

I’m forgetting what you need

Being what I believe
